To go or not to Gocompare!
Hats off to Dare’s current billboard campaign for the insurance comparison site, Gocompare.com. The pseudo defacing is both eye-catching and, on first view, very convincing. I’d personally have preferred it if the graffiti was the real thing - the spontaneous response from an indignant member of public that, like so many of us, find these intrusive ads unpalatable.
However, does the recent campaign and the lampooning tenor Gio Compario make the brand any more credible? Quite possibly, given the overdue acknowledgement that the public find the ads particularly irritating. Now, if only they could have the courage to finish the job off properly, I for one would sit easier during the ad breaks!
